What I Actually Put in My Tea
Now I make a cup most evenings, and I pay attention to what goes into it.
Here is what I usually use:
A little dried lemon balm from the garden, when it's in season.
A few chamomile leaves from the shop in the village, bought loose.
A thin slice of ginger, if the evening feels cold.
That's it. I don't have a special blend, and I don't mix anything for a reason I can name. I like the smell, and the simple steps give my hands something to do.
Tea doesn't fix anything, and I can't tell you what it does for anyone's sleep. I'm not a doctor or a herbalist. If you take herbs, check with a pharmacist or your own doctor first, especially if you take other medicine.
What the tea does for me is give the evening a shape. Boil, pour, sit. Those three steps tell me the day is ending.
I wrote those three steps on a card in my Tuscany Wellness Kit, and it hangs on my kitchen wall by the window.
If you don't drink tea, use the same idea with something else: a glass of water by the window, or warm milk. What matters is doing it on purpose.
